If we are measuring high evolution in terms of who is happiest on Earth, let us look no further than the common domestic dog or cat. But perhaps happiness is not a good way to measure evolution. Let us measure it in terms of who lives the longest. Let us observe the turtle, or saguaro–living beings that live to be over 200 years old. Or let us use the Douglas Fir Tree as a prime example of the most highly evolved thing on this planet.
Perhaps evolution can be measured in terms of scent, as in the wolf, or the one that can hide best, or the best swimmer in the sea.
There is a legend that when God was giving gifts to animals, the human asked for wisdom, so God made human beings the ruler of all animals for the human being’s humbling gift.
But why is it that laying on the bed and taking an afternoon nap the way my dog is right now sounds preferable to finding the area of a function under an xyz axis in cylindrical coordinates?
