February 26, 2003 on 10:08 pm | In Blogger | No CommentsFourth (number five will be up tomorrow):
C. February 1997: Talya starts the very beginnings of Jerry’s namesake, Windy Conditions, though at the time it was called Spheres because JEREMY and Natalie Harris shared two seperate hemispheres of their brains, allowing them to read each other’s minds. “As far back as I can remember…” writes Natalie…now the beginning of that novel is, “For as long as they could remember…”
And Claire is the main character instead of Natalie. But Jeremy hasn’t changed. I based Jeremy on my younger brother, Joey, and he still remains my favorite character I’ve ever invented. Thus, I named my penname Jerry in honor of Jeremy.
The Christianson part is based on a superstition that my favorite authors all have last names starting with a C, or C-sounding noise.
So, there you have it: the story of Jerry Christianson’s birthday.
Tomorrow as a grand finale I will have a little bit of html for all of you to copy and paste into your blogs, or to just enjoy. Hope you enjoyed the celebration!
Don’t forget to celebrate your writing!
And a huge thank-you goes out to Tasha tonight–she is still my best reader and a wonderful friend.

February 26, 2003 on 2:23 pm | In Blogger | No CommentsThird, a poem in which I first name Jerry, written c. Feb. 2000 (the first one being the inspiration for this website theme). This poem was also considered for an English contest of some sort by Ms. Minor:
Jerry Christianson
Copyright 2000
I am a slave
A slave to the pen.
And my master forces me
To flow across countless pages
Until I’ve achieved perfection.
Writers write
To express their minds
To translate their insanity into words.
Somehow this insanity gets Published.
They make money.
Slaves write
Into the night
Until Orion shall rise and fall
Come and go through and through
We continue on to the climax.
“More, more!”
My master’s whip
Is cruel and relentless
Though the world is asleep
We are awake, writing, writing.
Poetry
Short stories
Cursive here, print there
On the countless pages we write
Our works that will never be complete.
His name
Is Jerry Christianson.
Yet he writes to no one.
Like the moon clouded behind neon lights
Our works are lost on these modern fools.

February 26, 2003 on 12:08 pm | In Blogger | No CommentsSecond, we shall write about Instant Messenger.
c. Feb. 26, 2001
Ms. Close asks Talya to write for the NCTE Contest. During that time, Talya wrote Instant Messenger, in which a boy meets a girl online (it turns out the girl is a ghost). Although Talya did not win the NCTE contest, a year later, she sent a few queries out to get this short story published under Jerry’s name. Regina Williams, editor of The Storyteller magazine had the story published one year after that (last December).
Recently Regina emailed Jerry inviting him to write for a few contests. Talya and Jerry are currently working on getting two short stories out to Regina to win these two contests.

Tuesday, February 26, 2002
There’s a full moon out tonight. I can see it from my window as I type here, in my room, as it rises over the mountaintop, blushing, slightly, as it shows its pallid face at me. I went outside, to get a better look, and the entire night sky greeted me. A few stars poked their faces at me, laughing as they twinkled merrily, and straight above me was a planet…I’m not certain which, but my guess would be, it’s either Jupiter or Saturn, as it was so high. Ribbons of whispy clouds draped over the navy background, like white satin over a bridal gown.
I love the sky. I think that’s the first thing anyone should know about me, is that I am a star-gazer, a skywatcher, the astronomer that I am, and if I ever need time to do anything, it’s to watch the sky. Night is so impartial to our problems; I feel as though I can shout out at it, and in some ways, it understands. Like an old, wise person enlightened by life’s virtues, the sky advises, and listens to, the young, inexperienced romantic teenager that I am. But, I suppose in a way we are all young~

February 26, 2003 on 9:36 am | In Blogger | No CommentsWhoa, we’re going to hit 3,000 hits soon. I remember being so amazed when we hit 1,000. I’m not going to celebrate until we hit 5,000 hits though…
But today we’ll be celebrating, that’s for sure: it’s Jerry’s fifth birthday!

February 26, 2003 on 12:03 am | In Blogger | No CommentsQuiz Day!
So, here’s the answer to my quiz: if it was me, I’d buy the Wonderwoman Package (that won’t make sense until a few days from now. Much HTML. That’s all I have to say. VERY much html).

February 24, 2003 on 11:37 pm | In Blogger | No CommentsAfter about three hours of writing up HTML just now, I walked by the kitchen, smelled food, and realized I forgot to have dinner today. Oh yeah…
The math midterm went okay, I think. The best part about it is that it’s over and that was the worst of this week. The rest is fun HTML and some reading as well. Good stuff ~_~
I hope all is well with everyone…I read your blogs and all, but it’s hard at times to see how things are…
Two more days until Jerry’s birthday! You excited?
Kelly and I have lately taken to falling asleep while playing Enya…it’s so soothing after a hectic day. And with the rain outside, I feel very cozy indeed. There’s something great about Enya that just makes me feel relaxed, comforted, and at peace. She’s like a modern David playing for her king.
