Okay, I’m so confused by leelee’s xanga posting. Could someone please explain to me either via email or commenting? I’m so dense yet am rather worried but am not certain how much to be worried, and eerrgh it sucks to be this far away when you have a friend in need :(

Brunch this morning was really funny, but that’s only to be expected in this crowd…let’s see, we talked about ecological feminism and how my mom must hate cookies because she was the Cookie Monster’s right hand when she worked on Seseme Street thirty years ago…we also talked about genies.

And sand has its rights too, dammit! Will someone please think of the sand?

Ummm not much else is going on. Sunday afternoons are reserved for homework.

well I’ve reached the eye of the hurricane, but things aren’t quite done in terms of busyness on my part! There’s always work to do, and as Katie said, it’s INSANE that we only have six weeks left of the semester!

Last night Arunima, Caitlin, Charlotte, and I went to the Pirate Prom (avast ye, mateys! Thar be four wenches a-yonder to yer Pirate-themed dance at Pomona! Arrrr!). However, the music kind of sucked, so we went over to a Mudd-Scripps party which was SO awesome. When they played “The Roof Is On Fire,” some Mudders came out with kerosine and lighters and lit their balconies/roofs on fire. It was great because the entire party made sense on a nonsensical level.

This morning I jogged down to the Village, and the L.A. smog kicked my ass. Then I went to brunch with Katie, Sarra, and Lisa (who was in a mad hurry to get to work). Then Beth and I met up to work on the DOS site…

This afternoon was the dance competition lab, which is this mock dance competition for our social dance. It was a lot of fun. Sean and I got third in polka (okay, Lisa, all hail the Polka King ~_*), but I think it was the costumes that made it–we dressed in suspenders, jean shorts, and plaid tops…we looked adorable and got loads of complements! Sean also wore a fedora for the swing competition, and when we got called back, I put on the fedora…that got cheers, but I messed up on the Charleston (whoops!). Katie and Becca both did really well, but that’s precisely what I expected…and Lisa got first in polka and swing! Good job! She’s so adorable and puts so much energy in her dancing, it’s no surprise she did so well ~_*

Then this evening Tia and I more or less crashed…Arunima and Charlotte joined us for watching Moonsoon Wedding (so good! Watch it!). Then I introduced Tia to FFVIII (I think she liked it! In any event, she’s a fast learner on the nintendo).

Yeah, so I’m worn out from past events…nine hours from now, I’ll wake up and go to church. Nine hours of sleep…what a luxery.

Am dizzy. Am v. dizzy. Sean and I have been practicing polka the past hour or so for the competition lab tomorrow. An hour of polka is a lot of spinning. Oh well; no complaints; we’re going to win both swing and polka! Yeah!

Tonight is Pirate Prom. You will find me dressed like a wench for the event. Jolly-holly ~_~

Thursday means No-Alarm Day and Dress Up Thursday. I’m jolly.

In art we watched excerpts from s1m0ne…I love that movie. It made me want to see it again.

Thandiwe and I studied for our math midterm…Social Dinner involved talking about mechanically seperated chicken parts, and a restaurant in Pasadena that serves waffles and chicken (together, as in, on the same plate).

Mandy’s best friend from high school, Tia, is here, and I adore her! What a sweetie!

Hmmm…not much else is going on. I hope all is well with everyone. It’s a strange paradox, but people take time.

Today was a great day!

I woke up this morning and decided I better check on the online FAFSA stuff because the form was still inaccurate even though I submitted it, so I ended up yelling/crying at this beaurocrat on the phone trying to explain my situation (being a beaurocrat, he was a moron and couldn’t even figure out my situation), and by the time they were done, I was so mad! GRRR! But, then I hung up.

And I had a horrible feeling afterwards that something horrible was going to happen today! Gasp!

No, really. And I couldn’t think what it could be. So, I thought of a few things that could explain this dread. We have Ceaser Chavez off Friday, so maybe Towse would give us a pop quiz of some sort for today? Possible. Fearful.

Or, perhaps the financial aide stuff was wrong after all? I don’t know. Perhaps when I go to talk to them at the Scripps Financial Aide office, they’ll say, “what? You mean you sent the form in while inaccurate?” And then I’d say, “well, that’s what they had me do!” “No, you fool! You weren’t supposed to send in an inaccurate FAFSA!”

Or (as my dread began to increase) perhaps I failed my Core midterm and Core paper that we should be getting back today. Wouldn’t that be horrible!

So, I stepped out of the dorm kind of…scared. And nervous. Then I got to calc, and Professor Towse said randomly in the middle of the lecture, “Oh, by the way, I have a quiz for you–” (:gasp: don’t tell me I was right!) “–for you to practice on your own! It was the quiz I would’ve given you Friday, so…just take it for your own enhancement.”

Then at lunch, Charlotte and I decided we should go pick up our Core stuff (yikes!) but nothing came of it–Professor Scott-Kakures wasn’t there.

So, I went to check my mail, and I got a letter from the registrar (”oh,” I told myself. “This must be it. I’ll be getting Low Grade Notices today.”). Instead, it was a letter saying they received my AP credits and now I have 2.0 extra elective credits on my transcript!

So, after that I went to Financial Aide, and I told them my problem I’ve been having on the internet. They said, “well, you better quit college! You have six kids to deal with, two of which are in college!” We laughed, and then they said, “don’t worry, it’s our job to look at the FAFSA’s and fix the mistakes. You’re fine. We’re just glad you’re getting it in earlier than many people.” Great!

So, today was a great day! All my worries and fears were smote.

Raphael
“Which Ninja Turtle Are You?”
Brought to you by Quizilla

UGGGH I SO HATE THOSE FUCKING BEAUROCRAT BITCHES! I WASTED AN ENTIRE EVENING ON THEM (and I was looking forward to having an evening to do work). All I have to say is KILL FAFSA.

I’ve been up since 7a today. I’m tired. No wonder I tested Raphael on this quiz…fuck you all!

I got the bridesmaid dress for Eva’s wedding today! It’s gorgeous and it fits and doesn’t need any alterations! That’s worth celebrating.

Most of today was spent working on web design for DOS…I can’t wait to see the end result; it’ll be good!

This morning my alarm clock went off 40 minutes late. Actually it didn’t, it just was set too quietly. So, I’m a bit off-schedule now, but whatever. Sleep is good too. Then I went to calc then lunch. Then I worked on a paper–work, work, work! I’m about to go to Core and then from there social dance, then math with Thandiwe.

It feels good to be back.

Oscars rawked. We all made our predictions before watching, and we all did pretty well (10 for me, 9 for Arunima, 9 for Caitlin, 7 for Charlotte). Jollytimes ~_~

I have learned the sad truth just now that it takes a good chunk of time to catch up with people’s blogs…I mostly skimmed them all, no offense. I’m sure Lynn of all people understands.

Spring Break was far too short, and I want to go back. They should take a week off of winter break so we can have two weeks off at Spring Break. That’s my two cents.

Oh yeah…and Thursday Eva and I hiked up the mountain…you know, Pusch Ridge, the one right up next to CDO. It was WONDERFUL. I’ve never gotten to look at my neighborhood from that high up. I’ve always wanted to do that.

Sorry I didn’t update last night…or the night before–wow, I suck! My sister’s been getting on my Lent-case, so it’s been hard to get on and blog when I’m on the computer doing MS Word or job applications, if that makes sense.

Yesterday we went to Pheonix and saw some really cool exhibits. Then afterwards I went to Leeann’s and it was a grand reunion with Leean, Stephy, Tasha, and me. Yay! We played Risk, BS, By Jove, watched Mary Poppins, and dyed my hair reddish.
