————————————————————————
You have escaped damnation and made it to Purgatory, a place where the dew of repentance washes off the stain of sin and girds the spirit with humility. Through contrition, confession, and satisfaction by works of righteousness, you must make your way up the mountain. As the sins are cleansed from your soul, you will be illuminated by the Sun of Divine Grace, and you will join other souls, smiling and happy, upon the summit of this mountain. Before long you will know the joys of Paradise as you ascend to the ethereal realm of Heaven.
Hmmm maybe I shouldn’t be Pride after all in our Seven Deadly Sins, hehehe.
Like I was saying, I’m practically perfect in every way.
I pose a question to you all out there tonight: Today I forgot to grab my dinner at lunch (long story why). See, I’m on a 12 meal plan here, meaning 12 meals a week (no dinner Monday and Wednesday nights; instead just steal salad and eat in the dorm).
So, the girls and I ate outside tonight and Mandy went in the cafeteria and stole my dinner. And I think it’s a mark of how well she knows me that she grabbed me the perfect meal for me, ever. So, my question is, if I asked you to grab me my dinner tonight, what would you grab?

April 29, 2003 on 8:33 pm | In Blogger | No Commentswell, once Priya gets her ass in here maybe I’ll do something productive, but until then it’s blogger-time! Yay!
You know, I’ve decided all I need is for the summer apps to come through and then I’ll apply to grad school now because damn I’m on a roll with apps lately. Not to brag or anything, but you know that feeling where everything just seems all right in spite of the fact that you’re majorly screwed but you don’t care because you’re on Cloud-9 so yeah, fuck you too!
Today was no class, but don’t get me wrong, for some odd reason it was busy as hell: meeting people, researching in the library, voice newspapering, browsing, mathing, htmling, scheduling, gaming, dining, everything. Crazying.

April 28, 2003 on 11:24 pm | In Blogger | No Commentsweeee screwedness is fun! Priya and I are sitting here working on the centerfold for the senior issue (w00t we have fullcolor this month).
Speaking of the voice, you are now talking to Natalya St. Clair, co-editor-in-chief of the 2003-2004 voice newspaper! Yes, Priya and I are crazy enough to take the position of editors-in-chief next year! Wee we’re excited though; it was definately a major honor to be nominated and appointed. And we are tired. And on deadline. Why do we do this to ourselves?
Perhaps in some masochistic way, we like it :P
So yeah, ummm not much else is new. Our Core presentation went well; click here to view the “powerpoint” version of it.

April 27, 2003 on 4:48 pm | In Blogger | No CommentsHmmm so today was okay. Nothing too exciting. Last night Mandy, Charlotte, and I watched My Fair Lady :swoons: such a great movie ~_~ Although it says a LOT of negative things about gender roles.
But, hey, come on, the rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain!
This morning was nothing too exciting. We had brunch and then I did math. I talked to my sister earlier, that was great.
Anyone out there read Nickel and Dimed? It’s really good.

April 25, 2003 on 7:37 pm | In Blogger | No CommentsWhoa, is today the day of long lj postings? So many of you posted long entries! Hehe.
Okay, so my day in a nutshell (My Day: “No, this is me in a nutshell” :crawls into nutshell: “Help, help, I’m in a nutshell!”):
-8a: woke up to garbage truck. That damn truck…
-Exercised.
-Shower.
-Breakfast.
-Desperately finished Core essay.
-Desperately studied for math quiz.
-Turned in Core paper.
-Went to math. At the quiz, I knew all the steps and then when solving for the differential equation, got bested by a negative sign. THOSE DAMN NEGATIVE SIGNS!
-Went to Math Table for lunch. We laughed a lot. Math people are the best.
-Checked mail. Mail contents: bank statement, paycheck, and a letter saying, “Congratulations! You are going to be a Peer Mentor next year!” Oh yes. :blows on nails. Rubs nails on shirt.
-Worked on DOS site with Beth.
-Went to DOS meeting.
-Called Mom. Debated about women and work.
-Did an interview for editor-in-chief. I think one of the following scenarios will happen: a.) Priya and I will be co-editors-in-chief. Everyone’s happy. b.) One of us, because Financial Aid is dumb, is going to be the editor-in-chief, the other will be production manager/managing editor. Same diff. Anyway, we find out Monday.
-Went over to Priya’s room. Crashed. Talked about random stuff.
-Went over to Mandy’s. Hanged out.
-Dinner. They were out of sushi when we got there (grr), so I had tofu, cod, and shish-ka-bob (can’t spell, sorry). And orgasmic cookies with froyo on top.
-Came back.
-Blogged.
-Now I’m off to get ready for a Pomona Ball!

April 24, 2003 on 5:55 pm | In Blogger | No CommentsHmmm….I don’t know what to say. My life is boring. It’s just loads of shit to do and no time to do it. Fun!
I just got an email from Professor Towse, looks like I’ll be eating lunch with math people tomorrow! Fun!
This morning I sat down with my advisor and figured out my class schedule for next year. Here’s my desired schedule:
-Introductory Spanish, 10a-10:50a, MTWR
-Principles of Physics, MWF, 11a-11:50a
-Cybercultures (Core III), TR, 1:15p-2:30p
-Art 100A, MW, 6p-8:30p
-Beginning Lindy Hop, T, 9p-11p
-Linear Algebra, MW, 1:15p-2:30p.
w00t.
In other news, beware shockwave.com…it has the most addictive games on it, ever!

April 23, 2003 on 7:49 pm | In Blogger | No CommentsHarrumph. Here is yet another blog in which I complain about all the work I have to do! I think I’ll go play this new game I discovered on shockwave.com. Ahhh, procrastination…
Deepinder’s right, I should push myself more. But I feel like I’ve been pushing nonstop these past few weeks since Spring Break. And, like Lisa, I am facing wanting to be over with all this work versus fear of going home and facing Calc III and not having a job versus wanting to see my family versus the MADNESS involved in everything. There’s so much I WANT to know:
-did I get Peer Mentor or not?
-Will Priya and I be editors-in-chief, or not?
-do I have [insert job description] or not?
-will I do well in math or not?
-will my paper be done, or not?
-will Priya and I survive yet ANOTHER deadline, or not?
-am I or am I not?
And there’s more. Oh yes, there’s much more. But right now that’s all I want to talk about. So there.

April 22, 2003 on 9:33 pm | In Blogger | No CommentsWhich lj user are you?
quiz made by bijouriel
You love LJ for the communication aspect. It is a place to connect with people and nobody’s journal is safe from your comments! You either live for making comments and neglect your own journal, or you live for prevoking comments from other journalers.
hehe…comment slut. It’s funny because it’s true. I spend too much time commenting on everyone’s lj’s because I believe the best part about them is, I can keep in touch with all my buddies!
Right now I just downloaded mp3’s from Chroma. I like it a lot.
In Advanced Web Design Kerosh and I spent the first half hour or so playing InkLink, and it was really funny because we started pissing off the people we were playing with (we were sitting back-to-back on each others’ computers, so I’d be like, “oh whoops, I looked!” and see the solution to what Kerosh was drawing when it was his turn. Haha!). Then we got to actually presenting our websites and that was fun, too. The class liked our nav bar ~_~
Hmm…not much else is going on. I did a lot of online errands today…meaning, I set up an interview with Priya for our editor-in-chief application, I looked at internships/jobs I applied for/viewed status, I emailed the physics prof asking if they could guarentee me a seat in next year’s class, I emailed my advisor wanting to set up an appointment, I purchased train tickets online, and I paid the phone bill online. Thanks again to Deepinder for helping!

April 21, 2003 on 9:45 pm | In Blogger | No CommentsI’m frankly scared to post tonight because I bet that’ll screw up the HTML…
Hmm. We have a prospee over tonight; she’s very cool (”I’m going to go do work now…I’m going to go take a shower now…”). I love prospees who give you space while taking interest in the school…she’s very Scripps-like ’cause she’s a real sweetie and is very smart and serious about her studies.
Dance was fun! We learned a new dance move plus learned Rhumba! w00t let’s hear it for the Dance of Love ~_~
But one thing that made dance so much fun was, we had this prospective dance teacher, Joe, come in and teach for us, and Wes made people from Intermediate and Advanced dance classes come in. So, we got to dance with some really great dancers ~_~
Let’s see…I got back in last night at 3a! And I have two funny stories about that:
Funny Story #1: So, I was the only first-year in the computer lab, working in there because I was doing stuff for the voice newspaper and had to be there to print 11×17 pages. And there were many seniors there, desperately working on their theses that are all due. Many seniors. In the entire lab, I think there was one open computer.
Well, at midnight, the consultant left, and the second she did, the seniors busted out the vodka and potato chips! Hellyes. They weren’t exactly getting drunk, just something to alleviate the pain, I guess.
Funny Story #2: So, as I was saying, when I got out of the lab, it was about 3a. And 3a is a rather scary time in Claremont. I looked outside and there was a three-quarter, yellow moon casting creepy shadows on the Scripps buildings. “This will be fun,” I told myself as I cautiously stepped out to the sidewalk. I could hear the eerie chirps of crickets encompassing the still cold air. There was a rustle in the bushes. I turned. Nothing. I think.
Then, a black cat crossed my path.
“That’s it, I’m getting an escort,” I told myself. So, I did. Hehe.
