Well, it’s not that it’s a bad job. It’s just that I know it too well. There’s such a thing…

But it’s a nice job in that I can’t take it too seriously with such a fun group of people to work with (namely Bree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m SO GLAD you’re working there this summer!), when the worst that can happen to you is a crappy drawer or a busy crowd, but even that isn’t too bad because it keeps your mind occupied and a crappy drawer can mean you sold a lot (or a manager messed up). Well, I guess the worst that could happen was like last year when we had that stupid manager and the soda fountain broke–that was a crappy day. Probably the crappiest. So, I guess if the worst thing that can happen to you is a broken soda fountain, I’d say that’s not a horrible job.

The soda fountain did not break today.

Instead, they clocked me in, but I could not log into the computer system because the managers forgot to create an account for me. So, the first two hours or so I did absolutely nothing except on occasion help the ushers or play tag with Breelan. That was rather fun. The theater was a nice little funhouse during that time; Finding Nemo is opening with a BANG! Linette told me they sold over 5,000 tickets before 5p, and we sell about that by 3p on July 4 (so that’s INSANE for a normal Friday).

So yes, by the time I got to log on, the crowd ceased a little, and I got to remember all the little things and had to learn the little changes as well. Like the Super Combo. That’s the same, but there are more of them, and the Super Combo costs $8.22 instead of $7.72. And now you can do an upsell on the Bucket Combo. What’s with that? Even stranger, they sell ice cream and pretzels.

Ken says they’ll be remodeling this summer; we’ll be getting new carpet (FINALLY! There is waaay too much puke and nacho cheese and popcorn spills on that old carpet)…so what is the deal? I still say, “Welcome to Loew’s, would you like to try a Super Combo?”

But…they no longer have a bucket trolley for the ice buckets. And the stockroom has very little walking space. And the Apocalyspe Drawer no longer has its little quirk…

And Steven instead of Will works beside me. And Jessica is a different Jessica–a newbie associate instead of a manager who has been there for eons.

And Brian is back, but this time he is more like an old friend than a scary supervisor.

Somehow “A Hard Day’s Night” seems like an appropriate song right now.

So, Joey’s not working at KFC…instead he got a job at Fry’s, so he’ll be with Greg and Brad then! He actually has a pretty good attitude towards it, for someone at a grocery store (maybe I’m just thinking of Eva’s summer in Safeway and how much she hated that). But yeah, I think he’ll have a good time, and it’s probably a better job than KFC anyway.

I got my math book for $45 at Bookman’s (bookstore price was $113). Go me! I might go to Bookman’s before the semester begins at Claremont just to see how much better I can do there than at the Huntley (I bet I can do a helluva lot better).

Ummm math is sucky but then again I’ve never had a pleasant experience in summer school. Even Driver’s Ed and P.E. were bad.

After math I called Mandy and we talked a good while. That was great! Mandy’s fine, if anyone would like to know.

Let’s see…in other news, Grant got attacked this morning. My parents took him to the dog park and three rottweilers and a schnauzer jumped on him and bit him all over. His ear doesn’t look too hot, and he has a few sores on his back. Poor Grant. Though he seems in okay shape…he’s asleep on my futon now.

Yuck. No more car. I’m getting sick of the car. And carsick.

Calc III started today. The professor seems all right, though she scared the crap out of me the first half hour with a lecture on “you’re not Calc III material.” I hate that.

Anyway, if anyone has a vector calc book out there, I’d be much obliged because the Pima bookstore didn’t have it. I’ll try at the UA bookstore tomorrow, or the downtown Pima campus. Blech. More car-time.

My weekend, in a nutshell–

Friday was mostly in the car. I slept most the way there then got up and played on Jimmy’s Game Boy Advanced. I started GoldenSun and couldn’t seem to stop. Jimmy got mad at me for draining his batteries, but I kept playing :P

Actually he wasn’t mad so much as teasing, so it was all good.

We got to the hotel and I conked out until Mom woke me up for dinner. Then we went to dinner, and the boys and I watched Spirited Away afterwards because they hadn’t seen it. Dad liked it, Joey fell asleep, Jimmy thought it was weird.

Saturday the plan was going to be that Eva and Ernie arrive at 8a and then we would go meet Ernie’s parents, but Eva and Ernie missed their plane! Oh no! So, we went over to the Tedeschi’s house on our own and introduced ourselves. We had a big breakfast, and they showed us around.

Mrs. Tedeschi is very bubbly and has a very warm personality that just glows. She’s very sensitive and is willing to be anyone’s friend. Admiral Tedeschi is a very sweet and interesting man. He has a fish pond in the backyard with a waterfall, but when they first installed it, some animals ate his fish. Furious, he built a naval defense system that’s motion detected and sprays water at anything that comes too close to the pond. He’s that kind of guy.

After breakfast the boys and I went to the San Diego Zoo. Admiral Tedeschi and Dad went to pick up Eva and Ernie (who were eight hours late). Mom and Mrs. Tedeschi stayed at the house and talked and took care of Ernie’s sister (Ernie’s older sister, Gina, has Rhett’s Syndrome and needs constant attention).

The boys and I got very silly at the zoo. We saw a sea lion show and Jimmy made a few smart remarks about it. At the end of the day, we were going to look for the exit but got lost at the elephant exhibit, and we ended up seeing the elephants two or three times before we figured out we were going in a big circle (yeah, we’re morons and the zoo is huge. Give us a break).

We went back to the Tedeschi’s and had a big dinner. We had a toast for Eva and Ernie. Then we did some wedding plans. Then sleep.

The next day I slept in very late. Ernie, Joey, and Jimmy went to Magic Mountain (I guess they had a good time, but it was VERY busy, and they had to get Fast Passes, which was extra money). Dad, Admiral Tedeschi, and the admiral’s friends played golf.

The girls and I went to Eva’s wedding shower that Mrs. Tedeschi’s friends put on for Eva. It was very nice, and Eva got a lot of neat stuff, for example, a picnic backpack (not basket). By the way, Eva is fine, she seemed nervous about the entire weekend, but it sounded like she managed to have a good time as well.

After the shower Mom, Eva, and I went to mass with Ernie’s godmother, Aunt Kathy, and Kathy’s daughter, Lauren, who is finishing high school right now. They are VERY bubbly people (they threw the shower)–the kind of people who love everyone and are kind of cute/funny without meaning to be. I liked them a lot.

Let’s see…then we went back to the Tedeschi’s (yes, AGAIN!) and we ordered Chinese food takeout. Delicious.

The next morning we went to breakfast at Coco’s, then drove Eva and Ernie to the airport (and they were not late this time). Then we checked out of the hotel, drove for x amount of hours (I obssessively played more GoldenSun), and now I’m here. Nice place.

Intriguing. Even more funny is if you read the guy’s blog in the lead, apparently he made his friend even more mad by posting that!

I am not blogging the next few days–I’m going to Eva’s bridal shower in San Diego. Fun!

So, after all this time of hunting for Dreamweaver, Joey tells me this afternoon that he already has it installed on his computer. It came with his version of Flash or something. One of these days I will be inclined to murder that kid for his silence.

Today was fun, as was last night and the night before. I swear, it feels like my high school posse and I are on a honeymoon or something. It’s just been great. Fabulous. I love you guys!

This morning was Jimmy’s promotion ceremony, at the ungodly hour aforementioned. It was hot, dusty, and early–three combinations I did not enjoy. I swear, they so need to make that ceremony at night and in an air-conditioned building–even at that early in the morning it’s still too hot. There wasn’t even a tent. Oh well, we’re still proud of my brother. I hope he likes CDO better than Cross–he’s in for a heavy schedule next fall! He’ll be taking pre-AP English, honors math, honors science, I don’t know about honors history or not, plus journalism 101–I’m so proud ~_*

So, after that we went to breakfast at Denny’s, and I had my first bowl of oatmeal. I like oatmeal, I’ve decided.

Then I played Wind Waker, which is very awesome. I think I’ll be playing a lot more Zelda than I’d like to admit to now! Hehe.

Joey came back, starting the summer for all three of us for good. We ordered pizza in celebration with Steuy and Chris.

After that was a tea party with Kelsey (Caples), Tasha, Breelan, and Jessie at Chantilly. Oh, I had a great time! I think it went really well for everyone else, too, so I was pleased. It was definately very special.

After that, Tasha and I stopped at Fry’s to get some groceries for my mom (OH SHIT–gosh, there have been a lot of “yermom” jokes between Jimmy, Bree, and I!).

Then I sat down for maybe half an hour, then around sevenish Bree, Jess, and I went to the Foothills Mall to play DDR. I was happy to see I improved since last year! I think it’s all that dancing I’ve been doing–I feel the rhythm a lot better.

I’ll read your lj’s when I’m not so tired…I just finished an email with the Youth Basketball Team people and would like to sleep because I get up tomorrow to attend Jimmy’s graduation (at 7:30a!!!!). So, yeah.

Tonight was fun. We went to graduation, pigged out on chocolate silk pie, and watched Ice Age. It was great.

Earlier today Breelan and I got hired over at Loew’s, so that will be good. At least I am working with a friendly face in the crowd! Yeah, we can make “yermom” jokes the entire time. I am hoping to work there weekends, and do web design and math during the week. So, whoohoo! I am doing web design and math this summer! How is that different from the schoolyear? I’d like to know.

I am writing this while half asleep–pardon my French.

I don’t know French…

I got back a lil’ while ago from hanging out at Leelee’s house–it was the best! Bree and I got quite sugarhigh though from a package of cookies we bought at Alberson’s. Weeee sugarhigh and yourmom jokes!

All right, sleep is good.

This morning Mom and I went to church…I swear, St. Elizabeth Anne Seaten’s feels like Disneyland church next to McCalister: many people and many kids. I like the priest though–he had us sing “Happy birthday” for John Paul’s birthday today. My problem with church is, I don’t like going unless I feel God’s presence in there. Otherwise I feel like I should be praying to God where I feel God’s presence. I definately feel God’s presence at McCalister, but not really at a lot of Tucson churches. Does that make any sense?

After lunch we went over to Auntie Angela’s (not real aunt, but close enough). We celebrated cousin Mark’s graduation from the UA…he’s going on to Duke Medical School; we’re very proud of him. Cousin Andrew was there…he’s a Harvey Mudd alumni, and we were swapping stories. He told me that back in the day, once when West was serenating Frankell, they used Christmas lights to write something very rude to the Scrippsies. Well, the Scrippsies complained to campus security, and campus security yelled at the Westies. So, they rearranged the Christmas lights so they would blink half the message on one blink and the other half on the other. It took awhile to figure out what the lights said, but the message was still intact. :P So crazy. You Mudd boys better not get any ideas!

After that, I took a long, delicious nap all afternoon. Mmmmm naps. I think I’m finally beginning to catch up on sleep ~_~

Then Mom and I went to the gym, then dinner, then we watched Pretty Woman. My verdict on Pretty Woman? Good movie, bad message. Still romantic though ~_~

Then we all played InkLink for awhile. That game is quality ~_~
