I love Breelan and Deepinder! At 12:20a, both IMed me and said, “Get offline!” It was great.

BIG NEWS! So, Professor Benjamin at HMC recently got granted a project to take his book, Mathemagics and turn it into a workbook series for students grades 3-8. AND he wants Priya and me both to help out with it! He wants us to work for something like up to 300 hours each, so this might be something that’s starting this semester and then will keep going either into the schoolyear next year or over the summer. AND he wants help with the design/artistic elements as well (hello, can you say voice editors-in-chief?). AND we’re going to be doing some really awesome stuff with math…this is like a dream come true for me. Totally. I’m thrilled. IM me if you want more details about the BIG NEWS.

Eww I danced around 7p and am all sweaty from it but haven’t showered yet either…

2:08a…yep, this going-to-bed-on-time thing, not so much!

I had forgotten how much work college is. Well, not that I had forgotten, per say, but had forgotten that in particular Monday/Tuesday/Wednesdays suck ass. Dan is counting the weeks until summer and has 14. Only 14?

Joey got into IIT! It’s where my grandpa went, so that’s how we knew about it…I’m not sure about much more with the school…he has a few other places he is waiting to hear back from, though IIT gave a pretty quick response (and a pretty nice scholarship). So, yep, I was happy for him.

Not much else is new…I heart people.

And so the madness begins…ah, college.

I do have a goal from henceforth to make it to bed before 12a every night (or at least start blogging by then). So, if you see me up and on AIM after 12a, then you better ask me why the hell I’m online and not in bed.

I heart people who will write letters of recommendations and crazy dance teachers and math proofs and all other goodies today.

In art we had to give oral histories of ourselves. I hated every minute. Even more, I hated how well these people who hardly knew me were able to read me so well.

Oh wait, I already mentioned last night that I don’t have class on Thursday. I just thought I’d rub it in :P

This morning I got this email from Kym saying that if I’d like to, I could help out with a poster sale and get credit for it! Sweet! So, I walked around the 5-C’s handing out bookmarks to random people. It kind of went like this: Me: Hello. :thrust bookmark: Hello. :thrust bookmark: Hello. :thrust bookmark:

I don’t care what you think, it definately beats, “Hello, welcome to Loew’s, would you like to try a Super Combo today?”

But yes, I got some credit for the sale from doing it, which was most exciting, so now I have that M.C. Escher poster I’ve always wanted to own. Jolly!

This afternoon was spent doing two problem sets for math…I think I like having two math classes this semester! And also a little goofing off because that’s how things are…then dinner with Special Friend, then memorizing Spanish…and then talking to a bunch of random people on IM!

By the way, I have no class on Thursdays if you’re wondering. Nyah.

D’oh, I stayed up too late. I have a New Year’s resolution to get more sleep this semester…let’s see how well I follow it. ‘Course, I don’t have class tomorrow, but I also would rather not waste the day away sleeping ’cause I have stuff to do.

Classes are really good, I think. I like Intro the Mathematical Analysis…we learned the proof that the square root of two is irrational today. And then for homework I get to prove cool things that you were given when you were first learning math but never had to prove formally (e.g. if a number squared is even, then the number is even also). Diff eq’s looks okay, same ol’ Bradley. I think Art 100B will be hard, but I have a few friendly faces in the crowd. And dance should be jolly too.

I actually got off-campus today! I’d type more but am tired. IM me if you want the story.

Professor Rankaitis: You are going to learn the techniques of getting art supplies in various ways: rummaging through thrift stores, asking to borrow shower curtains from friends in dorms, and, my all-time favorite, Harvey Mudd dumpsters.
