This morning I sat in on one of Benjamin’s mathemagics shows. It was *very* cool–he does tricks with magic squares by filling them in if you just give him a number, of course races calculators by multiplying and squaring 3-digit numbers in his head, can tell you the day you were born if you give him a date (I was born on a Thursday), and as a grand finale for this show, he squared a 5-digit number in his head (he did not beat the calculator on that one, but he said the numbers out loud really fast–Kathe and I thought that doing the numbers out loud might have actually tripped him up because he forgot to carry a 3 at one point but then corrected himself).

Later in the day was another meeting.

HP Book 6 Title is out!!! HP Book 6 Title is out!!! The half-blood prince is not Harry or YKW…and there’s a link from COS…hmm hmm hmm…my initial guess is of course a link to the Riddle family, but I need to go HP-obssessing to see what other people have thought of :click: HPC, CRO

Blah…well, I’d give more thought and time to update, but time seems rather short today…here’s a quick rundown of this week if you’re up to it though:

1. almost done with Book 1 and we are moving into the exercises and starting in with Book 2 this fall for the workbook.
2. The HMC Math Department bought a copy of Adobe CS for my iBook! Sweet–Photoshop CS, inDesign CS, and so forth. Talya has a new toy :D
3. Tomorrow I’m going to watch one of Benjamin’s demonstrations! That should be exciting, as I have never seen it.
4. I have to come up with a cover design this week, so any ideas on that, either leave a comment (poseur, madame), or IM me! :)

Goddammit, I hate nightmares. Especially repeating ones that wake you up in the middle of the night and make you feel kind of scared to be alone in a place that’s not really your room because you’re only staying there another week or so as it is.
