July 31, 2004 on 2:55 am | In Blogger | No Commentsthe very worst part of me…is you.
There is nothing better than striding out to the tracks in 95-degree heat, your worst clothes on, your ponytail tied back, your brother’s stolen Discman earphones in your ears. A few stretches here and there, and you’re ready to face track 2…once you hit play on the Discman, of course. Hateful music is always what keeps you going…going past the developing blisters under your feet, pumping past the sore muscles and the sweat on your skin dripping down your back, your eyes, everywhere, there goes today’s make-up…just a few more laps, another good song is on…lungs are exploding, sunglasses keep slipping off the bridge of your nose–sheesh it’s hot–but the warm desert wind helps out…just as you think you’re about to pass out or maybe throw up, you’ve hit 2 miles…trot home, jump in the pool, and while your body was crying minutes earlier, you are purged and feel an amazing sense of catharsis.
it’s easier to run, replacing this pain with something numb…

July 30, 2004 on 1:30 am | In Blogger | No CommentsWow, Kerry’s speech was something else tonight. Too bad the audience seemed more enthused about getting rid of Bush than Kerry getting his nomination. :sigh: I wish our country wasn’t so split down the middle right now–when the polls have the votes 50/50 (well, 47/48), the president candidates have virtually the same policies, and the parties can sound both Republican and Democrat–then why is our nation so divided? Kerry was right on in that part of his speech.
Not much else to report…to quote Emily, “I am New Mexicoed out…” hehe…well, I guess Arizona has more or less the same merit. But I’m only here another…11 (as of Friday) days and then I go back to start RA training. w00t.

His dad: When you’re older than 20, son.
Cousin: Are you going to buy me one or make me one?

July 28, 2004 on 1:55 am | In Blogger | No CommentsIt has suddenly occured to me tonight that I am standing on the edge of the Great Beyond and might have to start thinking about the future a bit. People instruct me not to worry about the future…but I worry, and know that it’s about as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by doing bubble gum. At least I know that much is true.
I was reading my blog archives earlier today. God, I was a garrilous high schooler…to quote Sabb, how did I find time to write that much each night? I am also amused at myself–amused at how much I have seen since then that brings me to where I am currently.
I was a stupid kid. A happy kid, but a stupid one. I can remember the days when stealing traffic cones, drag racing, changing marquis letters, pranking principals and other things like that made for a fun weekend. That’s what you get for hanging out with your younger, stupider brother during high school. Not to say I was unhappy–just that I think I’ve done a lot of growing up since those days.
And yet the night sky still continues to fascinate me~

July 27, 2004 on 1:20 am | In Blogger | No CommentsHeh, I watched too much Close Encounters last night, as I had a few scary dreams about aliens and was glad Grant was in the bed so I could be like, “Graaaant?” in a quavering voice and make him snuggle up while I hide under the covers and try not to think about aliens coming to get me and my little dog.
Then today while napping I had this crazy dream that involved my sister smoking and me flying. Don’t ask. Just…don’t.

July 25, 2004 on 11:33 pm | In Blogger | No CommentsI’m done with the exercise illustrations, meaning tomorrow I get to get up atfrigginearlyhour to scan them in at my dad’s office.
The thunderstorm this afternoon was wicked cool. And being on the phone with Kevin for 2.5 hours or whatever it was was wicked cool as well :)
:sigh:

July 24, 2004 on 1:55 am | In Blogger | No CommentsDeath soccer is the best. It’s a game where we start playing soccer the normal way, realize we suck, pick up the ball and it becomes this weird soccer/rugby combination. The only true football game I know of! We also played kickball, another personal favorite.
New make-up is like having a new outfit. I also like new skirts. Tee hee, being a girl rules because you can try on new clothes and make-up and be happy about that.
