here’s hoping this week won’t be as bad….well, it won’t because at least I think I’ll do better in these midterms I have than last week’s. Such bad times. Tuesday I slept, Wednesday I was up until 4:30a again, then Thursday I took a nap between 7:30p-11p and studied for Abstract until then. My sleep schedule was way out of whack by the time the weekend rolled around, and I still feel tired but a little more rested than before.

This weekend was fun. Saturday Kevin and I went geocaching, and we found Japanese train tickets at one of the cache sites! For those of you who don’t know what geocaching is, click here. There are two cache sites at Pomona College, but the puzzles behind them are rather tricky. Hey, it’s way fun though.

I tried watching the Oscars for a little bit before dinner, but I didn’t get to see the tail end of it. It seems like the Aviator was cleaning up. Too bad; I heard that movie sucked :PI haven’t been a very faithful blogger this semester….for that I apologize. For awhile I was almost contemplating taking it down, but if enough people tell me that they read it regularly and find it useful, I’ll keep blogging.

g’ah….ugggggh it’s been the week from hell, and it won’t stop til Tuesday, maybe later next week. I was up until 6a again Sunday night, then 5a Monday, slept Tuesday night, studying for a CS midterm tonight, then an abstract algebra midterm Friday, then Monday is PDEs midterm, Tuesday is Asian-American lit.

I’m not an RA, I’m not an RA, I’m not an RA….

Blah….that was the longest abstract algebra homework set, EVER. We’re all going to complain, ’cause we didn’t enjoy it. See, I don’t mind doing long homework sets when I’m having fun with it. But we had one problem where we had to find an isomorphism between two groups with 9 elements in it each, meaning we had to write out multiplication tables for both groups, show they’re isomorphic, and say yay we win. Furthermore, for one of the said groups, we had to prove it was also a group to begin with and abelian. AND that was all _part_ of a four-part problem. Can you say tedious, not to mention long? And I’m not even going to tell you what it was like to do that for 15 other problems like that. My hand hurts. Like I said, I’m fine with long homework sets (take analysis last semester). But I’m only fine with it when they’re FUN. That kind of stuff is not fun.

Oh, well, it’s like Priya said a few nights ago….you know your semester is not complete unless you’ve found one class you dislike.

phew, going into midterms next week. How did they come upon us so soon?

I cut my hair earlier tonight….nothing too fancy, but I added a few layers and also did some techniques I read about in some magazines. I’d be surprised if anyone noticed anything, but hey, I like pampering myself too. Happiness is a vacuumed floor, a finished load of laundry, and 8 hours of sleep to look forward to. Yep, you can tell I’ve been studying, too :)

Actually I worked on abstract algebra and finished my PDEs, so I feel productive too :)

Ooooh, oooh, toy for you all–my CS assignment for the week! There better not be any bugs, or I’ll feel foolish….and I’ll get docked points: http://www.cs.hmc.edu/~nstclair/Spamsweeper.html. I was going to go for extra credit tonight, but PDE’s took over….maybe if I still feel like playing with it later, I’ll give it a try another time :)

Ahhh, happiness :)

Not too much to report for the week….it was a fairly good week. Wednesday night Kevin and I went to a talk about computer imaging at Mudd, and I found it really interesting, particularly some of the things about motion graphics. I also learned a little more about Nelson than I’d like to know….

Today wasn’t the best of days at ping pong (awww, shucks), but there’ll be other days. I also went down to the Village to get my bike fixed; hopefully it won’t be too expensive ’cause everything at the Village is overpriced. I have so many errands I’ve been putting off; maybe I’ll do them all tomorrow if I don’t get too tied up at work. I think after the eight hour shift I pulled last Friday though, I might not take as much time :)

Let’s see, what else is new…I really really like my classes, if you didn’t already know. The workload is reasonable, and since I’m not an RA anymore, I get 8 hours of sleep nearly every night (what a concept!).

Would you believe Valentine’s Day is this coming Monday? Wow, time flies. I used to hate Valentine’s Day in high school ’cause of all the pink and red that covered CDO (people really went all out, and it was disgusting), but I don’t resent it anymore, since people don’t take it to the extreme here. It’s wonderful!

I need to stop staying up so late….but I know it’s not going to happen either :D

Yes, it’s really 3:30a when I go to bed. But I don’t have class until 1:15p on Mondays and Wednesdays, so I might as well stay up, right?

Joey wears his study bandana when he works and Kevin wants a study banana. I think I’ll eat a study bagel instead :munch munch:
