made it to Illinois

Okay, I’ll start with the big news first: I’m engaged! Kevin proposed to me in Yosemite about a month ago. We have not set a wedding date as of yet, but it will probably be next summer.

Also, Kevin and I just came into Illinois after being on the road since May 21. Our 4,000-mile six week road trip was amazing; I’ll have pictures available once we unpack the camera cord and I’ve done some Photoshopping. We visited Sequoia, Yosemite, San Francisco, Redwood Forests along the 101, Crater Lake, Silver Falls, Mt. Rainier, Olympic, Seattle, North Cascades, Vancouver, Banff, Jasper, a few state parks in Minnesota and Wisconsin (making a stop for the House on the Rock, of course), and now we’re in Arlington Heights. It feels rather odd to be sleeping under a roof, and we’ve been shuffling boxes and doing laundry. Apartment-hunting will soon ensue.
