This video has to be the funniest thing I’ve seen in a loong time:
Cheers!
I’m alive! (My blog was not)
October 26, 2007 on 5:04 pm | In personal | No CommentsWell, seeing as I’m working about 60-70 hours/week, when Talya’s blog crashes, so does her blogging for a month. But I fixed the MYSQL database and updated Wordpress, so I think I’m good to go. The Fix Database Plugin helped a lot.
And of course, just as I got all the bugs worked out, Wordpress releases ANOTHER update to fix their own dang bugs. The cycle continues, right?
Teaching is going well — students are learning about matrices, imaginary numbers, factor trees and prime monkeys hanging from factor trees (don’t ask), and scatterplots. We are having a pirate treasure hunt on Monday in MathCounts, and we’re going to play Jeopardy in Algebra. So, lots of fun and games, but I think the kids need it because they’ve been working so hard all week. When they work too hard, they get squirrelly.
Well, it’s time for a walk. Catch you later!
lost direction
October 7, 2007 on 2:55 pm | In THEBOOK | No CommentsTalya: So, our motivation for today’s topic is direction. Who can tell me about direction? Hey, what are you doing out of your chair?
Student 1: I’m looking for the pencil sharpener!
Student 2: I think Student 1 has lost direction!
