Today was a great day!

I woke up this morning and decided I better check on the online FAFSA stuff because the form was still inaccurate even though I submitted it, so I ended up yelling/crying at this beaurocrat on the phone trying to explain my situation (being a beaurocrat, he was a moron and couldn’t even figure out my situation), and by the time they were done, I was so mad! GRRR! But, then I hung up.

And I had a horrible feeling afterwards that something horrible was going to happen today! Gasp!

No, really. And I couldn’t think what it could be. So, I thought of a few things that could explain this dread. We have Ceaser Chavez off Friday, so maybe Towse would give us a pop quiz of some sort for today? Possible. Fearful.

Or, perhaps the financial aide stuff was wrong after all? I don’t know. Perhaps when I go to talk to them at the Scripps Financial Aide office, they’ll say, “what? You mean you sent the form in while inaccurate?” And then I’d say, “well, that’s what they had me do!” “No, you fool! You weren’t supposed to send in an inaccurate FAFSA!”

Or (as my dread began to increase) perhaps I failed my Core midterm and Core paper that we should be getting back today. Wouldn’t that be horrible!

So, I stepped out of the dorm kind of…scared. And nervous. Then I got to calc, and Professor Towse said randomly in the middle of the lecture, “Oh, by the way, I have a quiz for you–” (:gasp: don’t tell me I was right!) “–for you to practice on your own! It was the quiz I would’ve given you Friday, so…just take it for your own enhancement.”

Then at lunch, Charlotte and I decided we should go pick up our Core stuff (yikes!) but nothing came of it–Professor Scott-Kakures wasn’t there.

So, I went to check my mail, and I got a letter from the registrar (”oh,” I told myself. “This must be it. I’ll be getting Low Grade Notices today.”). Instead, it was a letter saying they received my AP credits and now I have 2.0 extra elective credits on my transcript!

So, after that I went to Financial Aide, and I told them my problem I’ve been having on the internet. They said, “well, you better quit college! You have six kids to deal with, two of which are in college!” We laughed, and then they said, “don’t worry, it’s our job to look at the FAFSA’s and fix the mistakes. You’re fine. We’re just glad you’re getting it in earlier than many people.” Great!

So, today was a great day! All my worries and fears were smote.
