New blog almost up

May 22, 2006 on 10:38 pm | In Blogger | No Comments

With a huge thanks to Kevin, I want to say that my new website is almost complete. Soon this blog will be obselete, or part of the new website’s domain. More on this later.

first week of summer

May 21, 2006 on 1:59 am | In Blogger | No Comments

Let’s see…it’s been a long but good week. I like my apartment a lot; it’s pretty sweet because I have an awesome roommate and a sizable room. The complex is pretty too. I hope you all get a chance to visit sometime.

This week I also got a car — 2003 Toyota Corolla, white. 30 mpg, which matters in LA. Not exactly the sexiest, but it gets me places, and it’s exciting to me because it’s my first car.

Kevin was visiting this week, which was also a pleasure. We went on a hike, to Universal Studios, and did much hanging out. I also saw three good movies this week — All The President’s Men, Oldboy, and The Da Vinci Code. Yeah, don’t listen to what the critics have to say about The Da Vinci Code; it’s like going to a Stephen King movie. As for the other two, if you’re looking for a good movie to rent, I highly recommend either one.

I’d also like to point out that I already hate driving through L.A. I mean, everyone does, but here’s a case in point: in just today, I got stuck in two traffic jams, witnessed an accident, and took forever to park in Oldtown Pasadena. I’m so glad that I’m near the office for work; I would not attempt that mess every day.

Speaking of work, I start on Monday. weee!

graduation

May 15, 2006 on 12:42 am | In Blogger | No Comments

Commencement was today. I feel like I should blog about this weekend, but I really don’t have much to say, except this. I am so lucky that I was surrounded by such beautiful people when I got my diploma. Thank you.

I’m launching a new website soon. Details are to come :)

art thesis, project

May 2, 2006 on 2:08 pm | In Blogger | No Comments

The senior art opening was such a hit! Thanks to everyone who was there; it was a fabulous event. For those of you who missed it, the show is on display until May 14, and I definitely encourage you to check it out. In this post are some pics of my project for those of you who are out-of-towners. And I also turned in my art paper this afternoon. Yes, I’m aware of the typos.

Aside from that big day of two talks and an art opening, plus my mom being in town, this weekend was Kevin’s 21 birthday. I took him to a nice restaurant where he could order his first drink, and they didn’t even card him! That’s not fun. But other than that, the day went without a hitch. Then Sunday I went apartment hunting. I found a really nice place, so I’m quite excited about it. IM me if you’d like my address.

graffitti wall

Thank you to everyone who voted for the Ivy Chain design for Graffitti Wall! I’m super excited about getting to use one of my designs, and I’m also relieved that people from Art 193 get to contribute ;) What an honor!

are we done yet?

April 25, 2006 on 8:46 am | In Blogger | No Comments

I vote that for seniors, second semester senior year should end with thesis. We get to skip finals, enjoy three weeks worth of nothing, get nostalgic and all that, and apartment hunt sans the stress. And laugh at the underclassmen. Who’s with me?

Well, I guess we do get Dead Week, which is the week of non-senior finals in which seniors get to point and laugh at the underclassmen in a similar way described above. I’m just bitter because I’m writing this art paper right now….and I played the Sims all day instead of worked on it earlier. My bad. I haven’t done that in so long, so it kind of felt good. And now I have a cool Sim with a cool house.

tired of being sick

April 21, 2006 on 9:15 am | In Blogger | No Comments

That’s it. Next year I’m getting a flu shot. I hear that this cough I have can last 4-6 weeks, and it’s nothing except a nasty bug. Between that and the cold I had last winter, I’d say it’s been a miserable year for getting sick. So, it just won’t happen next year. Even though I hate needles….I’ll figure something out.

lost my voice

April 16, 2006 on 9:52 pm | In Blogger | No Comments

Ever since last season’s Battlestar Galactica ended, I’ve run out of things to say on this blog.

I think I’ve been experiencing a handicap of little to be said in general on things too, but perhaps I’m just feeling too literal right now since I lost my voice this weekend. Loosing your voice sucks — people treat you differently because it’s immediately obvious you’re sick, and it’s very hard to communicate in general. I’ve actually been really sick since last Tuesday. As such, I’ve been in bed most the time unless feeling miserable while having to sit upright. I know I feel better now because tonight I feel a desire to exercise again and I’ve got enough energy to go to class and do homework (not the case these last few days).

This may sound late on the uptake, but I’ve enjoyed playing The Sims 2 and saw Proof recently. Both productions are of high-quality, so depending on if you’re a gamer or a movie-goer, and whether you’re out of the loop or not, you might fancy to try either one.

I’ve taken to noticing the beauty of Scripps. I feel as though every time I enter my beautiful room or walk across Jaqua Quad, I need to savor every detail, from the citrus smell to the subtle beauty. I suppose my hope is to take some of the beauty with me, beyond college and throughout life.

Finally, I would like to play a game, inspired from Cypress’s xanga. The rules are you need to say ten different things to ten different people, no names and no bringing it up again later. Sometimes you’ll know who I’m talking to, and sometimes you won’t, even if I’m talking to you. Here goes:

  1. I wish you would stop bothering me….sometimes it’s really inconvenient.
  2. I miss you right now.
  3. You’re too good for her.
  4. I’m so happy for you.
  5. I wish I could be more like you, and I value our friendship very much.
  6. I wish you had more faith in our school.
  7. You remind me of Nicole Hartman.
  8. Thank you for everything…
  9. We never seem to be as close as I would like to be, but I consider you a good friend and a wonderful person. I’m going to miss you next year.
  10. I love you.
