So, we left Emmy home alone over Thanksgiving break for three days and three nights. When we came home, she meowed and meowed and made a little dance for us because she was thrilled we returned. Which I thought was really cute. Then she purred and rubbed herself against us and licked our noses for a good hour. We watched a movie that night, and I had never held or dealt with a happier living being than she.

Well, she was still overly affectionate all day Sunday and Monday. But I’m surprised that even today she has been overly affectionate and wanting to be held. Today I woke up, and she had snuggled under the covers with me, her head peeking out, and she was purring in my ear. It’s such a soothing sound when you’re falling asleep. And today, I had a cat in my lap at breakfast, dinner, while I graded and lesson planned…and yes, while I blog at this moment. I guess it’s nice to be appreciated, but now I feel guilty for going away!
